We enjoy the gifts and pleasures of this earth ignoring the fact that it will end. Yes we may realize that it will end, but hopefully that will be a long time from now.

We ignore the signs and prophesy. The devil, purgatory, if we admit to those things it may ruin our good times. But evil men are undermining all levels of our society and we are getting deeper and deeper into a pit that will soon have no escape. Look around and see the fruits of their labor; revealing dress, sensual behavior, even sexy and suggestive cartoons for our young children, and they can't pray in schools anymore. 

Yes the world is in a hell of a mess. And living here in this mess we often overlook the joy, the love, the beauty and the presence of our God that we will enjoy when we enter into eternity. Like little children our minds are focused on what is in front of us right now. Child-like humility is a virtue to strive for, a child-like attitude toward pleasure can lose your soul.

We need to evaluate our lives in the light that we will not be here forever. And Fr. Charles Arminjon enlightens us to accept the true revelation that we are headed for a much more pleasurable place after our journey here is done.
